Day 5

Canyon 10

The next day we headed back upstream to check out a couple more creeks. Neither were particularly impressive. This is a short canyon section at the bottom of the first creek

We climbed around this and dropped back in higher up, which had a little more canyon - Simon in the canyon

Rachel and Sue squeeze up to check it out

Rachel gives it the thumbs up (yes, it's a canyon!)

Canyon 11

After climbing up and out, we cross the ridge into the next creek, which has a shallow canyon in it

Back at the larger creek, Rich and Mel lounge like leopards in trees

The magnificent Blue Gum (mountain blue gum, Eucalyptus deanei)

Coorongooba country

A break at a surprising clearing in the next creek we descend

Canyon 12

We descend via a creek that Rich and I have visited before from the bottom. However, we haven't been through the upper constriction

Rachel in the lower constriction

Platypus tailed gecko?! (presumably a leaf-tailed gecko that is regrowing its tail)

Canyon 13

We drop into a larger creek - Rachel swimming up the larger creek

Another shallow overhang is our camp for the night

Day 6

Simon, Rachel and I are all feeling a bit broken, so walk out to a nearby aboriginal cave, while the others take a longer route via a section of canyon that we have previously missed. The cave has an impressive display of art

Our route out is via a creek that turns into a short canyon - Sue bridging down a drop
