Middle Echo Canyon

Looking down into Lower Echo Canyon - it's only allowed to descend this section if you reverse it again, as the last abseil is above a tourist track

Rachel on the Middle Echo Trail

Looking down into the bottom of Middle Echo - looks pretty good!

Higher up on the trail, which snakes above the canyon the whole way

One of the dangers of canyoning in Utah - prickly pear cacti

Rachel suited up and ready to go - waiting for Tom!

Time to get our feet wet

Rachel on the first abseil. All of the abseils are fairly short

At the top of another drop, a short climbdown

Rachel on the second abseil. The other two abseils don't feature as they were in fairly dark sections of the canyon. I did an extra abseil down an awkward little drop that Rachel subsequently jumped to avoid rope retrieval issues.

Sculpted walls

This is the start of a long, deep and very impressive section of canyon, possibly the most impressive of the trip

Swimming

After lunch, Rachel has taken off her wetsuit, but there are still a few chilly swims!
