From GM Giles:
"Captn, report from the Keep.." the stern blood elf barked
In his cabin and accompanied by the Princes of Jerris, Philippe Atton eagerly awaited the report of his first mate. It had been some 5 hours since the Deliverance had dropped the boarding party on the battlements of the Dragon Keep and all assembled wished to hear his report. From the oasis at the bottom of the crevasse the ship had waited while far above clinging to the sheer sides of the canyon walls the ancient Keep was explored. The winds that whipped the mountain top and ever-present driving rain had made it impossible to moor the ship. The blood elf had offered to lead the boarding party, among his company were the Questor Mereoni, Kerac the obsidiman and a handful of crew.
Belying his enthusiasm Philippe took a slow draw on his steaming coffee and casually directed his first mate, "Proceed Qua'Bareth"
"As was evident from our ship, what appears to be a skyraider vessel - in desperate need of repair - had moored to the Keep walls. The only sign of her crew was the crumpled body of a troll lying on the battlements.
"Upon breaching the initial defences we discovered a keep well-suited to withstand siege but apparently unmanned. Four levels and three towers made up its main features. Exploring the lower levels first, we discovered magically animated armour that appeared to be tied to the elements. Once this threat was vanquished we retrieved some arms and secured a room of apparent elemental significance.
"Next, resistance was met in what appears to be the keep library. Questor Mereoni against advice descended the stairs alone and crept between the abandoned shelves. What she found can only be described as a abomination - a black and twisted reptile the size of a tundra beast, winged and glistening with ichor. Later we were to find out this was the result of a fusing of the Nethermancer Trylaan and a dragon hatchling. All fought bravely but to naught. Mereoni and the Troll Gorem were slain..."
Qua'Bareth paused to draw a full breath. "Among his loot we discovered a sarcophagus of Crystal. Those with magical knowledge suggested it might be of benefit if we were to place one of the slain inside. After much angst we decided that Gorem would have wished Mereoni given the chance to continue."
Rushing on as if to divert any blame, "We then tried to summon the dragon Icewing to repay a previous debt but to no avail. Further inspection of the keep revealed the remainder of the Skyraider crew, holed up in the upper levels. The creature below and his minions had been harassing and slowly diminishing their number. Given the chance they were only too happy to quit the keep."
"In the rearmost tower we discovered a journal of one of the abomination's creatures, one Jordan Lightfoot. There it detailed the plans of Trylaan and his master Verjigorm. Also recovered were the final two daggers of Cara Fahd and another weapon of elemental power.
"The wreck of the Skyraider vessel was cut free of the dock, but the mooring requires substantial repair before it is again functional." Qua' bareth drew himself up to his full height and stared ahead closing his feet together.
"Thank you", Philippe shortly said. "Please stay while we discuss our next move..."
