From BenG: My suggestions are to investigate:

Key points:

Point One:

The people are 'very happy' - economy improving, politics stable.

Implication: Overthrowing Jerris by way of a revolution \ popular support highly unlikely. Task: Confirm this is true first hand...what was the source...

Point Two:

Some families demoted in status and others hunted and 'reduced' for being supporters of the Homewoods. The Homewoods have all been killed, disappeared or are in exile.

Question \ Comment:

There may be more to this than the obvious - whilst the new TomC may wish to destroy the Holmwoods as this is necessary to take back the throne and is consistent with what would be expected wer the Moriarty's - it may be worth investigating exactly which houses have been elevated and which have been demoted or targetted for destruction - look for anomalies against what we would expect. May give an insight into his enemies and\or intentions...

Point Three:

Calcaneaus is building up the Jerrisian army

Question:

Why??...Is this related to the tensions with Iopis?. Investigate numbers of troops, type of troops (air, land, sea, kaer) and equipment (heavy to attack cities, light) training (land, air, sea), supplies (e.g. build up in crop harvest, purchases of supplies etc may indiacte both numbers and timing - e.g. if its additional planted crops may be a while off, if its purchases may be very soon) etc.... These may give an indication of the objective \ target and timing of an attack. Run this pattern against various scenarios (what would be required to defend, invade Iopus, Thrial, enter the Kaers etc etc)... see if something matches.

Point Four:

Things are now somewhat strained between Jerris and Iopis.

Action:

See if we can find out more about this - also relations with other nations, areas etc. Are Iopis building their army?.

Point Five:

The Jerrisian Kaers, have now been reopened. (Artefacts may not be removed, while others that may be found must be returned to the Jerrisian authorities in return for a set price)

Question:

Why?. Investigate where these Kaers may lead - are these a route to somehere else or an objective in themselves?. Have any official parties entered the Kaer (or just independent groups). Perhaps this is a diversion to cover Calcs own people exploring the Kaers (can we find out who has been granted licences?). If it is an opportinuty to gather artifacts cheaply (risking others lives) lets look at this list - which items have high prices on them (the prices may indicate how much Calc is interested in each)....

Point Six:

A garrison of the Jerrisan army is camped out at the entrance to prevent unauthorised entry.

Question:

Is this too many to guard a Kaer?. What is the garrison (where is it sourced from, what types of troops are they - defensive, elite, scouts etc?)

Point Seven:

Mereoni was offered the position of High Priestess of Galan in Jerris, and Captain Kellow was recalled to 'his position' in Jerris (whatever that may be), both effective immediately.

Question:

Would Calc know we travel with this group?. Both Kell and Mereoni joined post the Arch and wouldn't have met him. Did the Witch Hunter meet Kell and Mereoni since they have been with the group - would like to know more about his groups involvement in recent actions... What happened to him after we met up with him?.
