An analysis of the prophecy from TomC...

Ok one verse at a time:

Line 1: Hunted those of the Blood
Line 2: Took refuge among the peoples of Jerris
Line 3: Emerging as the rulers of the people

Line 1 - I suspect this verse has to with the Moriarty family history. "Hunted" I guess related to the scourge and "Blood", either Elves or name givers in general.

Line 2 - Our family stay lived in Jerris from the ending of the scourge, and perhaps lived in Kares with them.

Line 3 - We became one of the leading houses and eventually the rulers.

This verse more sets the scene rather than tells us anything important. What is everyone else's ideas on it? Giles if there are historical points which we would otherwise know and have missed, please note them.

The next verse:

Line 4: Known by their actions alone, they shall be Regal in spirit only
Line 5: Loyal and betrayer both, shall flock to them,
Line 6: and then abandoned, they shall enter my shadow

Rather ominous in all.

Line 4 - I guess that it tells of our lost crown and our adventuring actions.

Line 5 - Rellor (betrayer) and Sara (loyal) may be relevant.

Line 6 - "my shadow" I gather is Earthroot's domain.

The 3rd verse:

Line 7: Bearing the darkest burden shall they come,
Line 8: To hear their penance.
Line 9: And the Minions of the Hunter shall fall under their blades

Line 7 - I know we have our problems, but it's a bit heavy to say "the darkest burden" - but then again no one will tell me anything so who am I to say!

Line 8 - I gather this relates to us going and beating up on the Hunters - who ever they may be.

Line 9 - This bodes well for our encounter with the Hunters - I wonder if my Astral spear counts?

Here is the rest:

Line 10: Of all the company only one shall emerge from my shadow unchanged
Line 11: One will on Gossamer wings depart, another suspended under a leathery span
Line 12: One torn to pieces, reconstructed form those past.
Line 13: One his body intact shall have his mind sundered.
Line 14: A Body alone shall walk and by Blood claim the throne.
Line 15: One with the darkest Stain shall be first to rule,
Line 16: fear shall be his sceptre and of bones shall his throne be made.

Ok here goes;

Line 10 - My guess is that is Mr Kolari, who will have the privilege of recording all us change and passing the story onto the world.

Line 11 - What are Gossamer wings? In any case if this poem relates at all to the NPC's then this I believe may be the line that spells there inevitable demise.

Line 12 - Kerac I think is the only candidate for this one.

Line 13 - I guess Jen - the on again off again practicing/preaching zealot may finally get it right by the end.

Line 14 - By virtue of there not being many lines left and the last one inevitably referring to me, I believe this refers to Sian. Also the Blood claiming the throne is another hint; so what do we infer from this: That Sian alone claims the right to the throne of Jerris as it is rightfully hers.

Line 15 - "the darkest stain", only one? Well that's a relief - although if it's Verjigorm then one is enough! No Giles - do not even think about it. As for what I rule, well I don't think it will be Jerris - the Poison Forest is more my style, or even the Badlands.

Line 16 - Sounds like home to me, a quiet little catacomb somewhere in a sleepy kaer
